Riyadh, July 14, 2026 – As temperatures rise, staying comfortable on the road becomes a priority. Ford’s engineering team in Dubai has focused on ensuring the Mustang Mach-E performs confidently in hot-weather conditions.
Focused on how the vehicle handles extended periods of heat, from the consistent sunlight to the warm blacktop, their in-depth work aims to build a vehicle that offers a reliable experience even when the thermometer’s mercury rises. With extensive testing in warm environments, the team has worked to ensure the vehicle handles everything from intense sunlight to hot road surfaces.
The team’s attention to detail means exploring how every critical system manages heat, from the cooling circuits of the powertrain to how the battery maintains its stability during fast charging. And the outcome of this careful consideration is a Mach-E designed to maintain its charging consistency, even in the higher temperatures often experienced in the Middle East, ensuring that journeys can proceed as planned, without undue concern about the sun’s intensity.
Here are some insights for making the most of your Mach-E in the summer months.
A good start can make all the difference. Consider preparing your vehicle's cabin and battery before you begin driving. When the Mach-E is connected to a power source, it can use that external energy to bring the interior to a pleasant temperature and optimize the battery's condition. If cooling is initiated while the car is still plugged in, the valuable kilowatt-hours (kWh) energy stored in the high-voltage battery can be reserved for propelling the vehicle, helping to preserve your range for the road ahead. The Ford app can help by letting you set a departure time, so the vehicle can be ready when you are.
Upon returning to a car that has been parked in the sun, the interior can easily hit up to 70°C, where the climate control system can require up to 5kW of cooling load (heat rejection) to fight that initial wave of super-heated air, while realistically drawing only about 2 to 3kW of electrical power from the battery. However, it takes approximately 1kW to maintain a cool temperature once you’re there. Pressing and releasing the unlock button on your key fob once, then pressing and holding it, kickstarts Global Opening, which lowers all windows as you approach the vehicle, allowing the warm air inside to escape quickly. For the first minute or so of your drive, keeping the windows down can help further clear the remaining heat from the cabin. Once the interior air feels more akin to the outside temperature, the windows can be raised, allowing the air conditioning system to maintain a comfortable environment with less effort.
While driving, certain habits can contribute to an efficient and composed experience. The One-Pedal Drive² feature, for example, allows the electric motor to act as a generator when decelerating, in contrast to solely employing friction brakes, which turns kinetic energy into wasted heat at the brake discs. One-Pedal Drive’s process—while still using friction brakes to bring the vehicle to a complete stop—reclaims energy and sends it back to the battery, rather than dissipating it as heat through the traditional brakes. This can offer a smoother driving sensation and contribute to extending your travel distance with, essentially, free mileage. Engaging Whisper Mode³ can also help, as it refines power delivery by smoothing out throttle sensitivity. This can prevent rapid energy demands on the battery, which can help manage internal heat. Furthermore, the Mach-E’s Intelligent Range system continually assesses factors like ambient temperature and driving conditions, helping to provide accurate journey estimates while offering helpful information as you travel.
A little care goes a long way when it comes to battery health. For daily use during warm periods, setting a charge limit of around 80% can be helpful. Charging the final increments, from 80% to 100%, can generate additional internal heat within the lithium-ion battery cells. By generally keeping the charge within the 20% to 80% span, you can help reduce potential thermal stress on the battery over time, contributing to its sustained performance for many seasons.
The Mustang Mach-E reflects an ongoing development, building on its heritage while embracing an electric future. Offers a practical, technology-led, and capable driving experience, recognizing that the interpretation of "Mustang" can adapt with the times and provide a refined experience for new journeys.
Mustang Mach-E carries the Ford sportscar spirit forward, simultaneously embodying a sustainable approach to mobility, and is available in showrooms across the region now.
